Postfix problems with Plesk 9.3

April 1st, 2010 · No Comments

Looking to move back to qmail from postfix due to all the issues introduced by Plesk when using Postfix.  Unfortunately Parallels have produced an extremely flaky implementation of the Postfix MTA in their Plesk 9.x control panel software and have not been able to fix the bugs in months.

The following article describes the process of switching between MTAs in Plesk 9.

Some of the problems discovered when using Postfix under Plesk 9.x:

There are many more threads and articles about this, but, not going to list them all here.

Over at http://se.id.au/journal/files/plesk_postfix_queue_file_write_error.php it is suggested that if you bypass the plesk proxy_filter implementation you can get rid of a lot of these problems… however, you loose spam filtering and other options at the same time.
